Kith reworks New Balance's 991v1 and 991v2 sneakers

Kith has partnered with New Balance to redesign the Made in UK line's 991v1 and 991v2 models, featuring premium materials and specific colorways. The collaboration was teased by Ronnie Fieg earlier this week. Drawings for the sneakers opened via the Kith app today, with a global release scheduled for March 16.

Kith and New Balance have a established a strong partnership, highlighted by their involvement in the rollout of the ABZORB 2010 sneaker last year and a teaser for the 990v4 collaboration toward the end of that period. Building on this relationship, the latest project focuses on the Made in UK 991v1 and 991v2 sneakers.

The 991v1 appears in a slightly green "Vetiver" colorway, while the 991v2 uses a taupe "Moonrock" palette. Both models incorporate pigskin suede overlays over a mesh base, along with reflective accents and subtle co-branding on the tongue, dubrae, and footbed.

For cushioning, the 991v1 includes ABZORB pods and ENCAP technology. The 991v2 builds on this with ABZORB SBS pods, ENCAP cushioning, and FuelCell underfoot.

Entry into the release process began today through drawings on the Kith app. The full global launch will occur on March 16 at 11 a.m. local time across Kith channels.

This collaboration underscores Kith's approach to tasteful color schemes on high-quality bases, as presented in the project.
