KOICA holds WFK volunteer program workshop in Cairo

The Korea International Cooperation Agency organized its annual workshop for partner organizations in the World Friends Korea volunteer program on 25 June 2026.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency held the Annual World Friends Korea Volunteer Program Partner Organizations Workshop at the Flamenco Zamalek Hotel in Cairo. Thirty-three participants attended, including officials from the KOICA Egypt Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and representatives from universities and cultural institutions across Egypt.

Mr Myungshyn Lee, KOICA Egypt’s Deputy Country Director, gave an overview of the agency’s projects in the country. Volunteer Mr Horae Shin, a Korean language teacher at Misr Public Library in Cairo, shared his experiences and performed the song Arirang. Sally Ayman from Ain Shams University presented on Korean language programmes and opportunities for further collaboration.

The workshop included discussions on improving volunteer activities and promoting Korean language education. The KOICA Egypt Office stated that the number of volunteers is expected to reach 20 across Egypt by the end of 2026.
