La Union police caution public over risky highway activities

The La Union Provincial Police Office urged tourists and residents on Monday to avoid dangerous or disruptive activities along national highways after a viral video showed people dancing on a road in San Juan.

The appeal came from police director Colonel Redentor Ulsano on Facebook. It followed a video of a group dancing on the national highway in Barangay Urbiztondo, San Juan, between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on May 10.

Ulsano stated that the police will not tolerate actions that compromise public order and safety. He noted that such activities endanger motorists and tourists alike.

“While we recognize and support the vibrant tourism industry and diverse community culture of San Juan, maintaining the safety and order of public spaces remains our utmost priority,” Ulsano said. The warning targets unauthorized events on major roads in the surfing destination.
