Linknet emphasizes collaborative digital infrastructure for national internet access

On the second day of the National Technology Summit 2025, Linknet affirmed its commitment to building a national connectivity ecosystem through collaboration. The company highlighted the need to expand home broadband networks in Indonesia, particularly outside urban areas and Java. Internet access remains dominated by mobile usage, while fiber-based connections are increasingly needed.

The National Technology Summit 2025, organized through collaboration between Linknet and the Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jasa Internet Indonesia (APJII), featured discussions on sustainable connectivity and inclusive digitalization. The summit officially closed on Thursday (6/11/2025) after a series of cross-sector sessions on tech industry synergy in Indonesia.

In the forum, Linknet emphasized a collaboration model to address digital infrastructure challenges. According to presented data, internet access in Indonesia still relies heavily on mobile, but digital service adoption is driving demand for more stable, high-capacity fiber connections. Linknet's Chief Technology and Network Officer, Erick Satya Arianto, stated, “The main challenge of digital infrastructure in Indonesia is not just technology, but geography. With 70 percent of the area being ocean, building house-to-house connectivity cannot be done alone. That's why we choose a collaboration model, not competition.”

Erick explained that Linknet now acts as an infrastructure provider that internet service providers (ISPs) can utilize. ISPs handle products, customer service, and local market penetration. “Each ISP has local strengths and different market understanding. Our role is to provide reliable networks accessible together through an open access scheme. This way, broadband expansion can be faster and more equitable,” he added.

Additionally, Linknet has implemented artificial intelligence (AI) technology for network planning, infrastructure monitoring, and improving customer experience, though currently focused on internal operational efficiency. This approach is expected to accelerate national internet access expansion, especially in non-urban areas.
