UK rapper Little Simz announced her new EP, Sugar Girl, set for release on May 8 via AWAL. The project marks her first music since last year’s Lotus. She teased it with an Instagram verse from an unreleased song.
Little Simz shared a teaser for Sugar Girl on Instagram yesterday, featuring a verse from an upcoming track. The EP arrives next Friday, May 8, via the label AWAL. It follows her 2025 album Lotus and continues her series of interim releases, including Drop 7 from 2024 after No Thank You in 2023. Pitchfork first reported the news on April 30, 2026. Since Lotus, Simz curated an edition of London’s Meltdown festival, toured North America, and appeared alongside Cillian Murphy in the Netflix film Steve, adapted from Max Porter’s novel Shy. Sugar Girl represents her latest stopgap EP amid these diverse activities.
