LL Cool J is reprising his role as Sam Hanna in the upcoming NCIS season 23 episode titled 'Reboot,' set to air on April 21 at 8 p.m. on CBS. A promo for the episode, which aired after a recent Tuesday installment, shows Hanna surprising the team amid a tense situation at NCIS headquarters.
The promo depicts the lights going out inside the NCIS building one night. Medical examiner Jimmy Palmer remarks, 'That can't be good.' Agent Parker soon discovers a dead body and states, 'We've got a killer.' Parker and Jimmy then encounter Sam Hanna in a side office, where he quips, 'Guess I should've called, huh?' Hanna quickly joins the effort to track down the perpetrator, providing a boost to the team. The episode, titled 'Reboot,' promises a suspenseful storyline. LL Cool J first portrayed Sam Hanna, a former Navy SEAL and undercover special agent, on the spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles. There, Hanna partnered with Chris O'Donnell's G. Callen on an elite Los Angeles task force. The duo debuted in a two-part backdoor pilot at the end of NCIS season 6. NCIS: Los Angeles premiered in 2009 and ran for 14 seasons before concluding in 2023. Hanna has made prior guest appearances on other NCIS series. LL Cool J appeared in a dozen episodes of NCIS: Hawai'i during its second and third seasons. His most recent mothership visit was in NCIS season 22's 'After the Storm,' where a suspect insisted on speaking only to Hanna.
