Designer Maria McManus presented her resort 2027 collection featuring butter yellow tones drawn from a Lucian Freud artwork. The lineup emphasized sustainable fabrics and classic wardrobe pieces.
McManus drew inspiration from the neutrals and hints of yellow in Freud's 1967 painting Girl in a Fur Coat. A standout piece was the Pearl Opera Coat crafted from a new silk alternative made of sustainably sourced wood pulp and recycled materials.
The coat offers the sheen of traditional silk along with added weight and machine-washable properties. All items were produced in a closed-loop environment that reuses excess water and materials.
McManus described her approach as focused on wearable clothing rather than art. She referenced the current Costume Institute exhibition while presenting neutral separates and her signature Italian wool cargo shirts.
