Martin Scorsese adds Jared Harris to Apple TV+ film cast

Director Martin Scorsese has reportedly added actor Jared Harris to the cast of his upcoming Apple Original Films project, 'What Happens at Night.' The film adapts Peter Cameron's 2020 novel and features a ensemble including Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. Production was scheduled to begin last month.

Martin Scorsese's latest project for Apple TV+, titled 'What Happens at Night,' has expanded its cast with the addition of Jared Harris, known for his role in the TV series Foundation. Harris joins Leonardo DiCaprio, who appeared in One Battle After Another; Jennifer Lawrence from Passengers; Patricia Clarkson of Dogville; and Mads Mikkelsen from Another Round.

The story follows an American couple traveling to a snowy European city to adopt a baby. They arrive at the Borgarfjaroasysla Grand Imperial Hotel, described as cavernous and eerily deserted, where the bar remains open and the restaurant offers thirteen-course dinners from centuries past. The film is based on Peter Cameron's 2020 novel of the same name.

This marks another collaboration between Scorsese and Apple, following the 2023 film Killers of the Flower Moon, which received 10 Academy Award nominations. Other joint efforts include the five-part documentary Mr. Scorsese, Scorsese's appearance in the series The Studio, and his role in the iPhone 4S advertising campaign promoting Siri.

Apple TV+ subscription costs $12.99 per month and includes original content such as the movie F1 The Movie, the series Pluribus, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking, and Silo. The platform continues to build on its reputation for high-profile productions.
