MegaLive produces Megaland at El Campín stadium

The new company MegaLive, from RCN Radio, is organizing the Megaland festival for its 20th anniversary, returning to Bogotá's Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Campín. The November 29 event will feature 10 artists and has already sold 70% to 80% of its tickets. Alejandro Villalobos, RCN's vice president of Content and Production, highlights the partnership with Páramo Presenta and the company's early success.

The Megaland festival marks a return to Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Campín, where RCN Radio began its music events 20 years ago with the first Nuestra Tierra. Alejandro Villalobos, the festival's creator and RCN Radio's vice president of Content and Production, says this edition takes place on November 29, one day after Dua Lipa's concert produced by Páramo Presenta. The partnership between Páramo and RCN's new entertainment company MegaLive streamlines stadium logistics.

MegaLive has produced four concerts in four months since launching, including seven sold-out dates for Beéle and the upcoming Kapo show. Villalobos states: 'In fact, we just did the Beéle concerts and we have some more left.' For Megaland, 10 main artists are lined up, including Arcángel, Álvaro Díaz, Sech, Grazy, Mike Bahía, Altafulla, Corin Smith, and Chris R, with a potential additional guest announced days prior. Time constraints from the previous event limit the lineup from up to 20 shows in past editions.

With a capacity of 42,000, the festival has 70% to 80% of tickets sold, with some sections exhausted. Last year it drew 45,000 to 50,000 attendees. The investment exceeds one million dollars, seen as low for a promotional radio festival, offset by ticket sales and sponsorships. Andrés Felipe Sarmiento, a La Mega host, notes: 'We will have a variety of genres and above all the expectation of filling El Campín stadium again, returning to where Megaland began 20 years ago'.

Villalobos, with over 30 years in youth radio, aims to take Megaland beyond Bogotá, perhaps to Medellín next year, though it stays in the capital for now.
