The mining ministry coordinated with unions and companies to compile an inventory of machinery and infrastructure available to SENAPRED from Wednesday.
The government activated coordination with the mining industry to compile an inventory of infrastructure and heavy machinery. The information must be delivered on Wednesday to the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service.
The meeting took place on Tuesday at 15:30 with representatives from CPC, Consejo Minero, SONAMI, APRIMIN and CChC, as well as Codelco, Antofagasta Minerals and Teck. Biminister Daniel Mas noted that Chile knows about disasters and therefore actions are anticipated.
SERNAGEOMIN asked mining companies to strengthen monitoring to prevent landslides. Its acting national director, Mauricio Lorca, said coordination with authorities and companies continues to support decisions with technical information.
