Leading national schools across Kenya have posted strong performances in the recently released 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, based on provisional results compiled from school tallies. Moi High School Kabarak in Nakuru County topped the list with a mean score of 10.59. Official results are expected soon from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
Provisional results for the 2025 KCSE examinations highlight the strong showings of Kenya's national schools, with Moi High School Kabarak in Nakuru County securing the top spot at a mean score of 10.59. Out of 450 students who sat the exam, the school recorded 82 A grades and 150 A-minuses, with just one student falling below the C+ university entry threshold.
Other standout performers include Alliance High School, which achieved 10.47, an improvement from 10.28 in 2024, and Maranda High School with 10.20. Murang’a Boys High School scored 10.16, while Alliance Girls High School reached 10.10. In Nandi County, Kapsabet Boys High School maintained its reputation with a mean of 10.00, though slightly down from the previous year.
In the Nyanza region, Maseno School posted 9.8, Asumbi Girls 9.7, and St Francis Rang’ala Girls 9.6. The full rankings also feature schools like Starehe Boys Centre at 9.97, Mang’u High at 9.84, Pangani Girls at 9.71, and Nairobi School at 9.50.
Nationwide, 993,226 candidates sat the exams, comprising 492,012 males and 501,214 females. A total of 270,715 achieved C+ or better, up from 246,391 in 2024. Meanwhile, 507,131 students attained C- or above, and 634,082 reached D+ or higher. These provisional figures offer an early glimpse into the performance of the country's academic powerhouses.
