Elon Musk said the final site for the Terafab project will be revealed shortly. The announcement came during Tesla's recent earnings call.
Elon Musk stated that the Terafab project is set to receive its final location announcement soon. He added that further details would follow in a dedicated product launch rather than during the earnings call.
Musk described the facility as a vertically integrated semiconductor plant capable of producing over 1 terawatt of AI compute annually. The project aims to supply chips for Optimus, Full Self-Driving, and other AI initiatives across his companies.
Intel joined the effort in April to provide manufacturing expertise. Musk confirmed the site will not be located on the Giga Texas campus due to its size.
He noted that Terafab is essential for scaling Optimus production and called the initiative necessary to avoid constraints on future output.
