Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, 39 and a 24-time Grand Slam champion, has joined General Atlantic as a global strategic advisor.
Djokovic will work closely with the firm’s management, its portfolio companies and its investors. “This is the first partnership of its kind for me,” the player said in an interview from Wimbledon.
General Atlantic chief executive Bill Ford met Djokovic before Roland Garros 2023. “Together we can be very effective in the area of investments,” Ford said. The firm manages $126 billion in assets and plans to leverage Djokovic’s contacts in health and wellness.
General Atlantic already holds a stake in Grupo Águilas, owner of Club América. Djokovic also expressed willingness to collaborate with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on investment opportunities.
