Nya Robertson set a school record with 10 three-pointers and scored 32 points as the No. 13 Tennessee Lady Vols routed Coppin State 88-35 on Nov. 23 at Food City Center. The victory marked the program's 1,500th win. Tennessee forced a season-high 36 turnovers in the dominant performance.
The Tennessee Lady Vols (5-1) started strong against Coppin State (1-5), leading 23-15 after the first quarter behind Nya Robertson's six points on two three-pointers. An offensive lull allowed Coppin State a 6-0 run, but Talaysia Cooper's three-pointer ended the drought.
In the second quarter, Tennessee's defense shone, forcing 12 turnovers and scoring 17 points off them to outscore Coppin State 22-6. The Lady Vols forced five straight turnovers to open the period, including a shot-clock violation and a 10-second call. Janiah Barker led with 12 first-half points and five steals, while Cooper added five steals. Tennessee took a 45-21 halftime lead after forcing 22 turnovers and scoring 31 points off them.
The third quarter saw Robertson hit two three-pointers for 17 points, helping Tennessee pull ahead 57-27 midway through and 67-31 at the end. Barker reached 13 points in the period.
Robertson exploded in the fourth, making five three-pointers to reach 10 total and break the record set by Samara Spencer in the 2024-25 season. She finished with 32 points, tying her career best. Barker ended with 19 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Cooper recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and seven steals.
Tennessee's defense forced 36 turnovers overall, the fourth-most in a game under coach Kim Caldwell and following 27 against MTSU on Nov. 20. The Lady Vols next play at No. 3 UCLA on Nov. 30.
