Ogun police commissioner urges promoted officers to uphold integrity

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has charged newly promoted officers to perform their duties with integrity, fairness, and professionalism. He made the remarks during their decoration ceremony at the Police Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. The promotions were approved by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun in recognition of the officers' diligence and service.

On November 11, 2025, the Ogun State Police Command held a decoration ceremony at its headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, where nine officers received their new ranks. Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo congratulated the officers and emphasized the need for them to uphold high standards in their roles.

The promotions, approved by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, recognize the officers' hard work, diligence, and selfless service to the nation. Ogunlowo described the elevation as a call to greater responsibility, urging the officers to demonstrate excellence to ensure safety in Ogun State and Nigeria.

Those promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) include Stephen Dapo Ojekunle, Emmanuel T. Falade, Tinuola Juliet Balogun, Gbadamosi Kazeem Babatunde, and Temitope Fapounda. Ajayi Moses and Okhuegbe Philip were elevated to Superintendent of Police (SP). Promotions to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) went to Oyebola Oluwatoyin, Alice Adebo, and Ajayi Abimbola, who serves as Secretary to the Commissioner of Police.

In a statement by the command's Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, Ogunlowo said: “I therefore urge you to see your new ranks as a call to higher responsibility. You must justify the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating excellence, integrity, and fairness in the discharge of your duties to make Ogun State and indeed Nigeria safe for all.”

The event serves as motivation for other officers to maintain discipline and professionalism within the force.
