Altice France and the consortium of Orange, Bouygues Telecom and Iliad signed a protocol agreement on Saturday evening for the acquisition of SFR after extended exclusive negotiations.
Exclusive talks had started on 17 April. The parties had set a deadline of 5 June but requested an additional 48-hour extension on Friday evening. A consortium executive stated that the negotiations had almost been halted. The protocol agreement was ultimately signed on Saturday evening. The sale of SFR is now seen as more on track than ever despite the complexity of the deal.
