Örebro Volley has secured a spot in the SM final by defeating reigning champions Linköping in three straight matches. They won the decisive third match 3–2 in sets on the road. Center Elma Olofsson called the feat even more enjoyable against all odds.
Örebro Volley eliminated Linköping in the semifinals with a 3–0 series win. They clinched it in the third match away with a 3–2 sets victory (25–12, 25–23, 13–25, 16–25, 15–10), according to Nerikes Allehanda.
The team is now chasing its twelfth SM gold. It is the first time in 18 years that a fourth-seeded team has reached the SM final—the last time, Örebro Volley won the title.
“Doing it against almost all odds makes it even more fun,” said center Elma Olofsson.
