Over 130 express interest in jobs at future Malung prison

Malung-Sälen Municipality has received over 130 expressions of interest for jobs at a planned prison facility. Municipal councilor Hans Unander (S) views the figure positively.

The municipality's political leadership earlier decided to pursue a security class 3 prison with 400 places. A preliminary study was launched in May by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service property director.

Over 130 people have so far signed up through the municipality's survey. Daniel Lethenström at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service states the interest is positive but timelines and finances also matter.

Hans Unander believes the number of applications may grow once construction becomes visible. He says the response received so far is very encouraging.
