The 2023 IDEB data show Rio rose from 5.4 to 6.0 points, matching Goiânia and São Luís. In the capital ranking, the city placed ninth, behind Goiânia, Teresina and others.
Compared with 2019, before the pandemic, the growth was only 0.2 point. The learning indicator in early elementary years advanced 0.03 point from 2019 to 2023, while the approval rate rose from 95.5% to 98.5%.
