Sir Paul McCartney discussed the dynamics of his 14-year marriage during a recent podcast appearance. He attributed its success to the couple being opposites in personality and background. The 83-year-old spoke about his relationship with 66-year-old Nancy Shevell.
Sir Paul McCartney said he and Nancy Shevell are happy because they are nothing like each other. He described himself as English and whimsical while calling her American and practical. The pair married in May 2011 after beginning their relationship in 2007.
McCartney made the comments on the Song Exploder podcast. He noted they have known each other a long time and know how to be with each other. He also dedicated the song Ripples in a Pond to her on his new number one album The Boys of Dungeon Lane.
The musician reflected on feeling blessed in the relationship. He compared it to his earlier songwriting partnership with John Lennon, which he described as uniquely natural.
