Pianist Clara Sverner to launch album and perform recital in Rio

Pianist Clara Sverner, nearing 90 years old, will release the album “Scriabin: Preludes & Poems” in October and perform a recital in Rio de Janeiro in August.

The new album, released by Azul Music, explores the work of Russian composer Alexander Scriabin. The cover was created by her son, visual artist Muti Randolph.

Clara Sverner said she chose to record preludes by the composer, highlighting Prelude No. 19. “His music speaks directly to what is deepest in us,” she said.

The launch recital will take place on August 7 at Sala Cecília Meireles in Rio de Janeiro. Singles from the album will be released on July 24, August 28 and October 2, with the full album arriving on platforms on October 30.
