Police commended for recovering 504 rustled animals

Governor Dauda Lawal has commended the Zamfara State Police Command for recovering 329 cattle and 175 sheep from bandits.

On Saturday, the Violent Crime Response Unit of the Zamfara Police Command recovered the animals from bandits in the Gambanda forest in Gummi Local Government Area. The operation also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition after the police engaged and overpowered the bandits.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal praised the security operatives for their resilience and bravery. He highlighted the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammad Bello in improving public safety.

The governor said his administration remains committed to supporting security agencies to protect the livelihoods of people in Zamfara State.
