Meteorological models do not agree on the specifics. Some, as listed on Météociel, predict a dusting in the Pays de la Loire and the Paris Basin. The American GFS model even foresees snow in Normandy and Île-de-France, while the ECMWF anticipates up to 2 cm in the West and 3 cm around Paris.
Lasting cold will set in from Wednesday, December 24, after a transitional day on the 23rd. On Thursday afternoon, the 25th, temperatures will range from 0°C to 3°C in the northern half of France, 7°C to 11°C around the Mediterranean coasts, and up to 14°C in Corsica. "The weather will change significantly between Tuesday the 23rd and Thursday the 25th, with lasting cold, though not excessive," states La Chaîne Météo.
This Christmas 2025 will be the coldest since 2010, when the national average temperature was -0.9°C. For 2025, the thermal indicator is estimated at +2.1°C, a stark contrast to the milder early December.
