President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with King of Jordan Hashimite, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, at Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. During the meeting, King Abdullah praised Prabowo's leadership of Indonesia and his commitment to peace in the Middle East, particularly the Palestinian issue.
"I praise your leadership for this country, and I have known you for many years. The role of your nation, in my opinion, to always take responsibility for resolving problems is very important," said King Abdullah. He emphasized Indonesia's consistency in supporting the Palestinian people's struggle through a two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as the path to peace.
"I know how great your commitment to the two-state solution is. How much the President values the future of the Palestinian people is something that, of course, warms our hearts," he added. King Abdullah repeatedly referred to Prabowo as "my dear brother," indicating the personal closeness between the two leaders that has developed over years. Prabowo stated he felt honored to visit Amman as his "second home."
Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that Jordan is ready to support Indonesia in sending peacekeeping forces to Gaza, Palestine, as part of those efforts.
