Prime Video has unveiled the first trailer for its Spanish-language adaptation of Isabel Allende's 1982 novel The House of the Spirits. The eight-episode series, set to premiere on April 29, follows a family across five decades amid class struggles and political upheaval in a conservative South American country.
The series centers on three women—Clara, Blanca, and Alba—in a story blending magical realism with historical tensions, according to the official synopsis from Prime Video. Alfonso Herrera, known for roles in The Exorcist and Ozark, stars as family patriarch Esteban Trueba. Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi portray Clara del Valle at different stages of her life, while Sara Becker and Fernanda Urrejola play Blanca. Other cast members include Fernanda Castillo as Férula, Aline Kuppenheim as Nivea del Valle, Eduard Fernández as Severo del Valle, Rochi Hernández as Alba, Pablo Macaya and Nicolás Contreras as Pedro Tercero, and Juan Pablo Raba as Tío Marcos. Isabel Allende serves as an executive producer alongside Eva Longoria, Courtney Saladino, and showrunners Fernanda Urrejola, Francisca Alegría, and Andrés Wood. This adaptation follows a 1993 film version featuring Jeremy Irons, Winona Ryder, Meryl Streep, Antonio Banderas, and Glenn Close.
