Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono stated that the reconstruction of Pondok Pesantren Al Khoziny in Sidoarjo has reached more than 50 percent.

Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono said the construction progress could be completed in the coming months. The focus includes a dormitory for 830 to 850 santri, a four-story mosque with capacity for 1,200 people, and an education building with nine classrooms.

The reconstruction follows the collapse of a musala at the pesantren on 29 September 2025 that killed 67 santri. The government emphasizes safety standards as the top priority with a budget of around Rp122 billion.

Menko AHY inspected the site on Tuesday 23 June 2026. He hopes the new facilities will create a more conducive learning environment for the santri.
