Rihards Marenis is clubless after strong season in Latvia

Latvian forward Rihards Marenis has become a free agent following a successful campaign with Zemgale. The 33-year-old recorded 54 points in 36 games in the Latvian top league.

Marenis leaves the club after his standout performance. He previously played in Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan and SHL.

During the 2021/22 season he tallied 36 points in 33 games for Vita Hästen. That output earned him a move to Modo.

His career path also included stints with Örebro in the SHL and Nybro, where he posted 33 points in 45 matches. He later competed in Germany's second division before returning to Latvia.

It remains unclear where the veteran forward will continue his career next.
