Semiwork reveals Repo update with loot-storing vehicles

Developer Semiwork has announced the first update of 2026 for its game Repo, introducing vehicles called Semiscooters that can carry loot. The update also includes cosmetics and a revamped shop interface. While no release date is set, fans anticipate it soon based on past patterns.

Repo, a game similar to Lethal Company, continues to draw players thanks to ongoing additions from developer Semiwork. In a recent devlog video on their official YouTube channel, Semiwork shared details of the upcoming update, starting with a lighthearted monologue about hot cocoa before diving into the changes.

The update features a cosmetics system, though specifics remain limited, promising fun customization options. Players will gain access to new items, notably Semiscooters—motorized bikes for navigating maps. The in-game shop receives a visual upgrade, appearing grittier with added interactive elements.

A highlight is the Semiscooter, originally planned as a two-seater but scaled back due to physics challenges. As one developer explained in the video: "So, is it true that you have removed the two-seater option on the vehicles? I had to because I couldn’t figure out the physics. It turns out that like the physics of a tandem bike… you know? There’s a reason why people don’t go on tandem bikes… because it’s hard… to do."

These vehicles allow players to ram enemies, staggering them for follow-up attacks, and even teammates, adding playful risk. Semiscooters include a rear compartment for storing loot up to $20,000 in value, accommodating items like monster souls regardless of size—ideal for space-constrained runs. However, overuse in combat can damage the vehicle, leading to explosions.

No exact release date was given, but Semiwork's history suggests a quick rollout. Repo remains in early access, with the Steam page indicating a 1.5-year period nearing its end, hinting at a potential full 1.0 launch in 2026.
