In the second SHL playoff quarterfinal, Skellefteå AIK hosted Malmö Redhawks. Malmö took a 1-0 lead through Petter Vesterheim in the second period after leveling the play, soon extending to 2-0 via Linus Öberg, assisted by Robin Hanzl, with the third line shining. Redhawks goaltender Oskar Blomgren dominated, moving smoothly and quickly across the crease. He saved 37 of 40 shots overall, per TV4. Skellefteå ramped up pressure in the third and equalized with 4:55 left. With 11 seconds remaining, former Malmö forward Lars Bryggman scored the 3-2 winner past Blomgren. 'It's just piss,' Blomgren told TV4 post-game. 'We collapsed a bit. We couldn't close it out.' Bryggman said: 'We don't stress too much, just keep playing our game.' Malmö missed defenseman Seth Barton, out since game one, with Elia Pedrotti getting more ice time alongside Robin Salo. The series stands 2-0 to regular-season winners Skellefteå, clear favorites.
