Snail Mail performed the opening track from her upcoming album Ricochet on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Lindsey Jordan and her band shared the stage with a life-sized statue of a two-headed lamb. The performance coincides with the release of Ricochet on March 27.
Lindsey Jordan, performing as Snail Mail, debuted 'Tractor Beam,' the lead single from her new album Ricochet, during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The band performed alongside a life-sized statue of a two-headed lamb, nodding to Laura Gilpin's poem 'The Two-Headed Calf,' which Jordan has cited as an inspiration for the record. Ricochet arrives this Friday, March 27, following her 2021 album Valentine and preceding singles 'Dead End' and 'My Maker.' Jordan co-directed the music video for 'Tractor Beam' with Elsie Richter on a New Jersey sheep farm. In a statement, she explained, 'I wanted the first song on “Ricochet” to be somewhat hopeful, while also balancing some of the heavier themes of the record. I got inspired by Gregg Araki’s adaptation of Mysterious Skin and the use of alien abduction as a metaphor for lost time because of disassociation.' Next month, Jordan begins a tour supporting Ricochet, with openers Sharp Pins, Avalon Emerson & the Charm, and Swirlies joining her for dates across Europe and North America.
