A Staten Island man received a 10-year prison sentence on Wednesday for his role in an Iranian government plot to assassinate journalist Masih Alinejad in the United States.
Jonathan Loadholt, 37, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit stalking and conspiracy to commit money laundering. U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman handed down the sentence after prosecutors detailed how Loadholt and co-defendant Carlisle Rivera were recruited by an asset of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to carry out the killing for money.
