Studio Supersoft announces Moonstone Academy game

Studio Supersoft, the developer of Moonstone Island, has revealed a new title called Moonstone Academy set in the same world. The studio confirmed it is ending development on the original game, with no further DLC or free updates planned. A teaser image highlights a school location and sky exploration mechanics.

Studio Supersoft announced Moonstone Academy on social media and Reddit, positioning it as an entirely new game within the Moonstone Island universe. This creature-collecting title will feature turn-based battles using character-specific decks of cards, similar to the original, but with new characters, improvements, and returning developers.

The teaser depicts an avatar in a mage's uniform ascending a tower at what appears to be a school, then boarding a propeller bike to take off into the sky. This aligns with the series' theme of traveling between sky islands to explore biomes and locations.

Development on Moonstone Island, available on Switch, PC, and mobile, included several free updates throughout 2025. In June, 28 existing Spirits received new evolutions. September brought avatar customization options. However, the studio stated there will be no additional content moving forward.

Currently, Moonstone Island is on holiday sale across platforms, priced at $7.99 on PC and $11.99 on Switch. Moonstone Academy remains in development, with no release details shared yet.
