Tavion Heights defeated Jackson Drake on WWE NXT Tuesday to earn a shot at the North American Championship. He will face champion Myles Borne at the Great American Bash on June 28.
Tavion Heights secured his spot in the title match after overcoming interference from Vanity Project members during the number one contender's bout. Myles Borne, the current champion and Heights' former stablemate, intervened to even the odds by taking out Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes.
Heights controlled much of the match with suplexes and power moves before hitting his finisher, the Height of Glory, for the pinfall victory. The win sets up a rematch between the former No Quarter Catch Crew teammates.
The NXT Great American Bash takes place June 28 at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Other matches announced include Tony D’Angelo defending the NXT Championship against NARAKU and Lola Vice defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Kendal Grey.
