Teammate says Khabib Nurmagomedov unlikely to compete again

Zubaira Tukhugov believes former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will not return to any form of combat sports competition, including grappling.

Tukhugov, a teammate of Nurmagomedov, stated that the retired fighter trains every day but remains unlikely to step back into competition.

"He still trains every single day, twice a day. He trains incredibly hard, almost like he’s preparing for a fight," Tukhugov said.

Nurmagomedov retired from mixed martial arts after his final UFC bout in 2020. The comments come amid ongoing speculation about his potential involvement in grappling events.
