Tesla shared two social media posts that have fueled speculation about the Model Y L reaching the United States market. The posts included an anniversary render and a dachshund image captioned about the long weekend. Observers interpreted the messages as references to a longer-wheelbase version of the Model Y.
Tesla posted an anniversary image on July 1, 2026, showing its product lineup with what appeared to be an elongated Model Y. Hours later the company added a dachshund photo with the caption “Looking forward to the long weekend.”
The company also uploaded a Model Y L image to its US market gallery. These actions followed earlier sightings of test vehicles in California and at Giga Texas.
Musk stated last year that the Model Y L could reach the United States late in 2026. Analysts noted a six-seat version has sold well in Australia and China. Deliveries of a Launch Series version priced at $61,990 are slated for September or October.
