Irish folk-metal band The Scratch has revealed details of their upcoming third album, Pull Like a Dog, set for release on March 13, 2026. The announcement coincides with the drop of the title track single and its accompanying music video. The band shared insights into the album's themes of perseverance and positivity.
The Scratch, a Dublin-formed folk-metal outfit, unveiled their new album Pull Like a Dog today, marking a significant step following their 2023 release Mind Yourself. That previous album debuted at number one on the Irish Vinyl Charts and number three on the IRMA Albums Chart, while earning a nomination for Irish Album of the Year at the Choice Music Prize. Their music has also gained visibility through a feature in Netflix's House of Guinness series, created by Steven Knight of Peaky Blinders fame.
Album and Single Details
Pull Like a Dog arrives on March 13, 2026, and the band has released the title track as the lead single. Lead vocalist Daniel Lang described the song's essence: "It's about tossing aside the idea of apologising for merely existing, grabbing life by the scruff and being loud about it." The music video, directed by Paul Gleeson, was shot on the shores of Lough Ree, emphasizing the band's raw energy.
Guitarist Conor Dockery highlighted the album's evolution: "The changes we’ve faced have given us room to grow; this album embodies openness, perseverance, and positivity." This project represents a new beginning for the group, building on their established sound.
