Two men backed a car into the shutters of a shop in Osaka's Naniwa Ward early Tuesday, police said. Street security camera footage showed the vehicle ramming the entrance at 3:45 a.m., as reported by FNN.
Store cameras captured the suspects smashing display cases and stuffing merchandise, including Pokemon cards, into bags. They were inside for just two minutes before fleeing in the car.
The stolen items were valued at 1.5 million yen. The quick smash-and-grab has left the store vulnerable, with an employee telling reporters: "This is absolutely terrible. Even if we repair the shutters, we're scared that the same thing will happen again."
Police are investigating and seeking the suspects.
