Three women killed in Macuspana during violent weekend in Tabasco

Violence struck Macuspana, Tabasco, with the shooting deaths of three women on Saturday, November 8, bringing the total to six homicides in three days despite the Jaguar I security operation. The victims were attacked while gathering in a local neighborhood. Federal and municipal authorities responded with patrols, but no arrests were reported.

The municipality of Macuspana in Tabasco experienced a weekend of violence, with at least six homicides recorded between November 6 and 8, 2025. These incidents occurred despite the recent deployment of Operation Jaguar I, announced on October 20 by the state attorney general, Óscar Tonathiu Vázquez Landeros, to bolster security amid a surge in violent crimes linked to rearrangements among criminal groups.

The most striking incident took place on the night of Saturday, November 8, in the El Castaño neighborhood. Three women, identified as Débora 'P' and Daniela Alejandra 'E'—the latter a beauty salon owner—along with a third woman not yet officially identified, were shot by two armed men on a motorcycle. The victims were gathering on the sidewalk in front of one of their homes, drinking beers, when the attack happened. One died at the scene, while the other two were rushed to a hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

The National Guard and Municipal Police cordoned off the area and began intensive patrols, but no arrests of the perpetrators have been reported so far. The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has initiated the corresponding investigations and handled the recovery of the bodies.

This tragedy adds to other killings in the area. On Friday, November 7, a man was murdered in the Palomas community, inside a home on Cuauhtémoc Street; the victim, presumably involved in disputes between criminal groups, was found with a handgun placed on his chest. On Thursday, November 6, Emmanuel, alias 'Pipo', was shot six times in Villa Benito Juárez (San Carlos) by subjects on a motorcycle. That same day, another person was wounded by gunfire in the Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez neighborhood, near Francisco Gálvez primary school—their health status is unknown—and hours later, an individual was killed on Agustín Díaz Castillo Street in downtown Macuspana.

Operation Jaguar I involves the Inter-Institutional Tactical Reaction Force (FIRT) Olmeca, the National Guard, and local forces, but recent events indicate that violence continues to rise.
