Just seconds into the game, Wilson Odobert nearly assisted Richarlison, but the Brazilian's shot was saved by Slavia's goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek. Tottenham continued to press, with Mohammed Kudus crossing for Odobert, only for Tomas Holes to clear the danger. The opener came from a Pedro Porro corner, headed on by Cristian Romero, which David Zima unfortunately nodded into his own net.
Slavia Prague had opportunities, with Guglielmo Vicario saving from range and holding Michal Sadílek's effort before halftime. Five minutes into the second half, Archie Gray's pass found Porro, who was fouled by Youssoupha Sanyang in the box. Kudus converted the penalty to make it 2-0.
Stanek made impressive saves to deny Odobert, Pape Matar Sarr, and Mathys Tel, including a double save from Sarr and Tel. With ten minutes remaining, Xavi Simons won and scored a penalty after being brought down, sealing the 3-0 victory. Spurs substituted key players like Kudus and Porro late on.
Manager Thomas Frank, who made only two changes from the recent Brentford win, reflected positively: “I was very happy that we built on the momentum from the Brentford game. Both home, but in general just in terms of performance I think there was more offensive, positive notes to take from the game as well. Positive individual performances but also the team just gelling a little bit more and more together in a tricky game against an opponent that is not easy to play against. Slavia Prague, big respect for them. The man to man physical pressure, but we got the job done and got three points so that was good.”
