The studio behind an upcoming Spyro title has expressed strong interest in reviving the Banjo-Kazooie franchise if asked by Xbox.
Toys for Bob studio head Paul Yan and associate creative director Lou Studdert discussed the possibility during a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games.
Yan laughed when asked how often the team had considered working on Rare’s Banjo-Kazooie series. Studdert said the franchise sits at the top for platformer fans on staff and called it one they love deeply.
Both described the characters as timeless and iconic. They noted that a new Banjo game would fit the studio’s focus if the opportunity arose.
The comments come as Toys for Bob works on Spyro: A Realm Reborn, announced at Xbox’s Summer Game Fest earlier this year. The studio previously developed the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4.
