Trier secures final BBL playoff spot

The Vet-Concept Gladiators Trier have secured the final playoff spot in the Basketball-Bundesliga.

In the decisive play-in game, Trier defeated the Rostock Seawolves 76:69. The Gladiators had finished the regular season in eighth place and had previously lost to Rasta Vechta.

Rostock sat in ninth place after 34 matchdays and had earlier beaten the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. Trier will now face defending champions Bayern München in the quarterfinals.

The first two games of the best-of-five series are scheduled for Sunday and Tuesday in Munich. The series then moves to Trier.
