Lucas, 2, disappeared from his home in Nyåker on Sunday morning. He was found after more than 14 hours by home guard soldiers.
Lucas was playing with family in the yellow villa when he suddenly could not be found. After about ten minutes they realized he had walked out the door.
A large search operation began with police, rescue services, drones, Missing People volunteers, mountain rescuers and the military. Lucas was found at 01 at night to Monday sitting in the forest.
Grandmother Ioana Toader thanked everyone involved. ”I want to thank everyone so much – the police, the military and volunteers”, she said. Grandfather Neculai Toader added: ”I do not want to say just thank you. I want to say God bless you.”
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson praised the effort. ”All of us who have had two-year-olds at home know how lightning fast things can happen”, he said. Magdalena Andersson also thanked on Facebook for the shared responsibility.
