Versatile forward Tyler Vesel expects to depart Brynäs after three seasons as his contract expires. The 32-year-old American told Gefle Dagblad he doubts receiving an offer from the club. He expressed willingness to consider a return to Björklöven, newly promoted to SHL.
Tyler Vesel joined Brynäs from HV71 three years ago and played a key role in the team's promotion to SHL. This past season, the right-shooting forward filled multiple positions, including defenseman, center, and winger, while contributing to power play amid injuries. He recorded three goals and six assists in 51 SHL matches. Vesel told Gefle Dagblad: “It’s hard to close the door completely to Brynäs, but I’m doubtful that there will be an offer for a continuation.” Brynäs sportchef Johan Alcén has delayed decisions on Vesel while awaiting other roster developments. Vesel added: “We preferably want to stay in Sweden and I’ve said all year that I want to stay with Brynäs. But at the end of the season, the club said they couldn’t offer a contract right away, but needed to wait.” Björklöven, Vesel's first Swedish club, earned promotion to SHL this year. “Of course it’s one of my old teams and you know the city and how it works there. So I would definitely listen if they got in touch,” Vesel said.
