The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has rescheduled party nominations for Ol Kalou Constituency to Friday, May 8, 2026. The exercise is now a day earlier than originally planned. The change follows requests from party members and aspirants.
According to a May 4 notice signed by UDA National Elections Board Chair Anthony Mwaura, the party nominations for Ol Kalou Constituency in Nyandarua County will now take place on Friday, May 8, 2026.
“Notice is hereby given that the Party Nomination exercise for Ol Kalou Constituency in Nyandarua County shall now be held on Friday, May 8, 2026,” the notice states.
A previous notice had scheduled the nominations for Saturday, May 9, with a registration period from April 27 to May 3 via the UDA party portal. The decision was made “in consideration of representations duly received from Party Members and Candidates in Ol Kalou Constituency.”
Ten aspirants have formally submitted bids for the UDA ticket in the Ol Kalou by-election, which aims to fill the seat vacated by the death of MP David Kiaraho on March 29. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, UDA's deputy party leader, met the aspirants on April 22 to confirm their intentions.
Party members and candidates have been directed to note the change and adjust their plans to the new timeline.
