The incident occurred on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 9.43am when a 31-year-old woman called for help, stating that her 31-year-old husband had attacked her with a knife in their flat at 88 Fung Cheung Road in Yuen Long, Hong Kong, before she managed to flee with injuries to her hand. Senior Inspector Chan Man-hei of Yuen Long's district investigation team said, “Upon our checks of surveillance footage and preliminary investigation with the victim, we believe that the couple began arguing about business problems.”
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered smoke billowing from the flat, prompting the evacuation of about 30 residents. The woman's husband was later found unconscious on the pavement opposite the flat following an apparent fall from a height. He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in a coma, though Chan noted that his condition had stabilised by Saturday afternoon.
The woman was taken separately to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment of her hand injuries. Police are continuing their investigation into the argument and the fall, with no arrests or further charges reported at this time.
