Zara Larsson won artist of the year and pop of the year at the 2026 Grammis gala in Annexet's Stockholm. She was represented by her mother Agnetha Larsson while on tour in the US. Viagra Boys claimed the most prizes with three wins.
The 2026 Grammis gala took place at Annexet in Stockholm, hosted by Niklas Strömstedt. It was streamed on YouTube rather than traditional TV. Zara Larsson, currently on tour in Los Angeles, won artist of the year and pop of the year for the album “Midnight sun”. Her mother Agnetha Larsson accepted the awards and said: “Zara can’t accept the prize because she’s in Los Angeles living her dream. It took 13 years but now she’s where she’s always dreamed of being.”
Zara Larsson later joined via video link: “It weighs so heavily for me to be appreciated at home. It’s so big to be part of the Swedish music industry, because we’re fan the best in the world.”
Viagra Boys were the night’s biggest winners with awards for rock of the year and album of the year for “Viagr aboys”, plus Sebastian Murphy for songwriter of the year. Other winners included KAJ for song of the year “Bara bada bastu”, Fanny Avonne as newcomer of the year, and Siw Malmkvist with a lifetime achievement award. Malmkvist drew huge cheers and rapped a Pippi Longstocking rap on stage: “People call me icon and legend – but it’s just me!”
Strömstedt joked about the drinks and took a jab at culture minister Parisa Liljestrand: “You’re just offered water and popcorn, no wonder the culture minister stayed home.” Performances came from Veronica Maggio, Viagra Boys, and Adaam & Greekazo.
