A 25-year-old US citizen of Somali origin was fatally stabbed in broad daylight in Bula Mzuri village, Garissa County.
The victim had recently returned from the United States for what was intended as a joyful homecoming. Residents described the attack as shocking because it occurred openly during the day.
The family identified a known gang member as the suspect and reported the name to authorities. Three days after the incident, they said no action had been taken.
Family members and the community are demanding swift justice. They described the victim as a role model and called on Garissa County authorities to arrest the suspect without further delay.
Garissa County has faced ongoing challenges with youth gangs such as Squad Chafu and the Gaza Family, which are known for violent crimes involving machetes and knives.
