EPCOT's Butterfly Landing shines at morning rope drop

Visitors to EPCOT's Flower & Garden Festival are discovering Butterfly Landing as a serene morning alternative to ride rushes. A Cast Member revealed that butterflies are most active around 9 and 10 a.m., offering peaceful encounters amid the park's early bustle. The exhibit, located between The Land pavilion and Journey Into Imagination With Figment, remains open until the festival ends on June 1st, 2026.

During EPCOT's ongoing Flower & Garden Festival, Butterfly Landing has emerged as a hidden gem, especially in the early morning. A Cast Member outside the exhibit invited recent visitors inside, noting that butterflies are most active between 9 and 10 a.m. At that time, cooler temperatures allow them to fly easily, forage among flowers, and cluster in visible groups despite Florida's heat and the rope drop crowds heading to attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy or Test Track. One group experienced the room nearly empty at 9:30 a.m., capturing numerous photos in a tranquil setting that felt worlds away from the theme park frenzy. The exhibit closes daily at dusk to let the butterflies rest and is only available during the festival, which is set to conclude on June 1st, 2026.
