Glass cypress transforms adidas stan smiths with coffee dye

Glass Cypress has completed a limited run of 35 adidas Stan Smith sneakers treated with coffee dye and hand distressing. The Houston label's first sneaker project emphasizes subtle alterations to the iconic shoe.

Adidas supplied the pairs in their standard all-white design with green heel tabs. Glass Cypress dyed the leather with coffee to create a softened, stained appearance before adding individual airbrushed marks around each heel. Co-founder Saber Ahmed said the goal was to make each pair feel handled and slightly displaced from the present without removing its familiarity.
