President Claudia Sheinbaum delivered an accountability report on May 31, 2026, at the Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City, two years after her electoral victory.
Sheinbaum criticized former presidents Vicente Fox, Felipe Calderón and Ernesto Zedillo for allowing US interference in Mexican affairs. She highlighted the alleged narco-government of Calderón and the Fast and Furious operation.
The president questioned the US Department of Justice accusations against Sinaloa politicians, including Rubén Rocha, and stated that Mexico does not accept interference. She said “Mexico is not anyone’s piñata”.
At the event, Sheinbaum reported economic achievements such as a record investment of 23,591 million dollars in the first quarter and higher formal employment. Thousands attended, with screens installed in several states.
